School Uniform- Important Information
Last updated 9 May 2019
MPS P6 children have been involved in a project to help us design our school identity. When we heard that we might have to pay for the current logo to be registered we decided the time had come to refresh it and applied for funding to the Gannochy Trust. We had been considering this move for a while and this was the nudge we needed!
Our application involved us learning more about our village and what makes us unique and these findings would shape the design of our new school logo. Our bid was accepted and so we set off on our learning journey!
P6 class consulted with children, parents and staff to find out what makes Milnathort Milnathort! We have been so lucky to have the support of parent (and designer!) Mrs Charlotte Giacopazzi in the design process and we have also taken the opportunity to switch supplier (again following parental consultation) and found a local company ideally suited to support us.
Our children and families told us, through the logo consultation, what makes us unique and what our school represents and here’s how our requirement to wear school uniform fits with some of this feedback:
|What makes MPS unique?||How wearing school uniform supports this|
|Community/Milnathort||Pupils will be identifiable, promoting a positive image in the community and beyond|
|Pride||Everyone can look and feel like they take pride in the school's image|
|Friends/teachers/children||Promotes school spirit and a feeling of belonging to part of something bigger|
The final consultation has been with the Parent Council and now that has been completed we are ready for the launch on Tuesday 7 May 2019 in our school from 9.20am.
The school uniform policy has changed only slightly however what needs to change is us ensuring we all stick to it. Again this has been led by P6 class in consultation with children and the Parent Council.
